This micro-winery arose from the passion of two friends, Jacques Castany and Pascal Dieunidou, in parallel with their main activities: Pascal is a bank employee and Jacques works for a transport company. The first vintage dates back to 2002 and soon encountered great success, with awards from Robert Parker propelling them to among the best wines from the South of France. Today, the two friends still cultivate 10 hectares alongside their main jobs, for a small annual production of 15,000 to 20,000 bottles.
The wines produced are powerful, well balanced, with notes of fruit flavours, and are characterised by their artisanal production. The harvest is done manually in crates, with the grapes then destemmed and sorted by hand, before being vinified separately in a plot-based way.
The Domaine’s second wine, full of fruit and freshness, it best symbolizes the exceptional clay-limestone terroirs of the village of Vingrau.
